What is the average high school grade point average (GPA) for
incoming freshmen?
The average GPA for incoming first-year students is 3.5.
How are you evaluating the new writing section of the SAT?
We are currently utilizing the Math and Critical Reading sections
of the SAT for admission review. The writing section may be used
for placement purposes for incoming students.
If I am an international student, do I have to take the SAT or
ACT?
Yes, each international applicant must submit scores for either the
SAT or ACT.
Are either SAT or ACT scores required?
Either SAT or ACT scores are required. Incoming students are also
evaluated by their high school grades as well as types of courses
taken, class rank, and their potential for success within a science-intensive
academic program.
When is the best time to apply?
Since the University follows a rolling admission policy, applicants
are urged to apply during the fall or winter preceding the fall
semester in which they intend to enroll. For first-year applicants,
this is generally during the fall or winter of their final year
in high school. Acceptable applicants who apply for admission after
a class is filled will be placed on a waiting list.
Can I apply online?
Yes, students may apply online.
Online applications are given the same consideration as traditional
paper applications.
