International
students applying for first-year admission must be admitted to the
University no later than April 30, 2008. We recommend that you submit
all supporting materials well in advance of this date.
International applicants who have completed college-level coursework
outside of the United States must comply with the filing dates listed
in the Transfer Admissions section
of this site.
Each international applicant must submit scores from the Scholastic
Assessment Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT) as well as
scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or
the SAT II - English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT) if the applicant's
native language is not English.
The TOEFL requirement may be waived if evidence is presented to
show that the applicant's studies have been conducted in English.
Although exceptions to these requirements are unusual, the SAT
or ACT requirement may be waived if the applicant can show evidence
of satisfactory completion of courses that parallel college courses
under the American system of post-secondary education.
International applicants who have completed college-level coursework
outside the United States are required to have their coursework
evaluated for possible advanced standing by the World Education
Services. Information concerning this evaluation service may be
obtained by linking to the World Education
Services.
Applicants for admission who have been accepted will be sent a
letter of acceptance and a "Certification of Finances"
form. This financial statement must be completed and returned promptly
to the University accompanied by a non-refundable tuition deposit
of $150.00. Upon receipt of the financial statement and the deposit,
the University will send the applicant the Certificate of Eligibility
form I-20A, which is required for a visa.
