Pharmacy Students Get Advanced Training at Utah School

Eight members of the USciences community attended the University of Utah School on Alcoholism and other Drug Dependencies the week of June 18. As part of the training, they hiked up a mountain to signify an addicts’ journey to recovery.

The photo includes (left to right) Laney Jones PharmD’14, John Minchak PharmD’14, Campus Recreation Director Marc Casaerio, Unicel-Anne Flores PharmD’14, and Kara Underhill PharmD’14. Also at conference were Associate Professor Dr. Diane Morel, Jenny Jin PharmD’14, and Meghan Tolan PharmD’14.

The annual program has continually expanded its scope to keep pace with increased awareness of the health and social problems of alcoholism and other drug dependencies. All areas of these problems are presented in training sessions for professional and lay personnel. The School provides students with the latest methods and techniques for working effectively in their respective disciplines.
