Dr. Grace Farber was named assistant professor of biological sciences at University of the Sciences. She previously served as a visiting assistant professor at USciences for the 2012-13 academic year.
Dr. Farber’s teaching responsibilities include general biology I and II as well as coordinating and teaching the general biology labs. Last year, she taught microbial physiology, an introduction to biology lab, and general biology I and II labs and lectures.
Prior to teaching at USciences, Dr. Farber served as a part-time instructor at the University of Pittsburgh, Chatham University, and the Community College of Allegheny County. Her research and teaching expertise includes cellular and molecular biology, microbiology, and neuroscience. Dr. Farber’s previous research focused primarily on the molecular mechanisms driving Mucolipidosis Type IV, a lysosomal storage disorder.
Dr. Farber received her PhD in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Pittsburgh and her BS in neurobiology from Rider University.
