Before
Dr. Peterson came to University of the Sciences in Philadelphia
in 1996, he was an assistant director of pharmacy/clinical
services at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Prior
to that, he was an associate director of pharmacy, drug
information and clinical services at Crozer-Chester Medical
Center. He currently is a health outcomes consultant for
Healthcore, Inc., which is located in Newark, Del. He
is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)
by the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

He
has concentrated his years of research in pharmacy management,
managed care pharmacy, pharmaceutical care and adverse
drug reactions. Some of his more recent scholarly publications
and presentations include "Improving Medication Compliance
in Patients Receiving Home Care," "Therapeutic
interchange program for oral histamine H2-receptor
antagonists" and "Planning and Implementation
of the Automated Pharmacy Station (APSŪ) in a University
Teaching Hospital." He wrote a chapter on "Drug
Utilization Review Strategies" in Managed Care
Pharmacy Practice.

Dr.
Peterson is the chair of the Philadelphia Area Managed
Care Board of Pharmacy Directors and is a member of several
other organizations including the American Society of
Health-System Pharmacists, Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy,
American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the Pennsylvania
Society of Hospital Pharmacists.
